This is the pilot project commonly called iStructures for the USC's Viterbi School of Engineering Technology Transfer Center. iStructures incorporate the very latest "smart building" (HPIS) (High Performance Information Systems) High Performance Computing, Advanced Visual Systems and Ultra-Broadband Communication creates an A+ commercial space that enables new a dominant global strategy.

A smart building offers a competitive advantage for its occupants by seamlessly integrating advanced design capabilities  to provide customers and suppliers on a global scale. This competitive advantage will be further  leverage by using the infrastructure to assist in the creation and expansion of a modern workforce. The cost  of sustaining this modern workforce will be greatly reduced by an infrastructure that provides access to the matrix of advanced distance learning  and training environments. HPIS lowers maintenance by an integrated services and support system.

A high-tech "Knowledge Park" is will soon obtain Department of Commerce  EDA funding to plan and build a facility in central California. Workspace in the Knowledge center will be pre-wired to accommodate the next generations of Internet technology.

iStructures are scalable and designed to integrate into existing EDA-funded incubators and industrial parks to create a Grid of High Performance Computing.

This pilot leverages existing distance learning and commercial projects presently sponsored by the Department of Commerce and the Department of Labor. This new generation of "smart building" will use HPIS to transform existing EDA projects throughout the region.
